CLINICAL TRAUMATOLOGIST

This program is designed for professional care-providers who offer clinical
and counselling services for trauma survivors or wish to gain the skills
to do so. This skills-based program provides participants with a comprehensive
framework for survivor needs, assessment and evaluation, and treatment
through the trauma recovery cycle--as well as addressing care for the
caregiver. This Program series provides theoretical knowledge and practical
skill-development opportunities that highlight best practices in trauma
intervention. Designed for care professionals who have a minimum of a
Master’s degree completed or in progress, related to a clinical
or counselling field OR a minimum of four years with a counselling mandate
along with regular supervision. Successful completion of the following
courses (or equivalencies) is required for CLINICAL TRAUMATOLOGIST Certificate
of Completion: TI-1001, 202 - 207. A blend of face-to-face and on-line
courses is accepted. Before enrolling in course 206, participants must
complete 202-205.
COMMUNITY & WORKPLACE TRAUMATOLOGIST

Designed for professionals, paraprofessionals,
and volunteers who work with trauma survivors or trauma-related. The courses
in this stream will enhance the skills required for activities with individuals
or groups who have been directly or indirectly exposed to trauma. No special
requirements or degrees are necessary for this entry-level non-counselling
training stream. Successful completion of the following courses (or equivalencies)
is required for COMMUNITY & WORKPLACE TRAUMATOLOGIST Certificate of
Completion: TI-1001, 102 - 107. A blend of face-to-face or on-line courses
is accepted. Before enrolling in course 106, participants must complete
102-105.
EARLY INTERVENTION FIELD TRAUMATOLOGIST (1001)

First responders (e.g., fire/rescue, emergency
medical services, law enforcement) as well as mental health and health
care professionals will benefit from Field Trauma training. This is an
entry-level program and no pre-requisites are required to receive the
Field Trauma designation other than successful course completion. Participants
will learn about on-site responding and learn how to respond to a critical
event and aid those requiring psychological first aid.
COMPASSION FATIGUE RESILIENCY & RECOVERY – EDUCATOR (107)

program developed for those caring for seriously ill, injured or traumatized/troubled
people. This popular program was designed to be both didactic and experiential.

COMPASSION FATIGUE SPECIALIST – THERAPIST (207)

This course is for mental health care professionals
with a minimum of a Master’s degree (or an M.A. in progress), or
4-years of counselling work with on-going supervision. This program is
a comprehensive Compassion Fatigue resiliency course designed with caring
professionals in mind. Participants will learn about Compassion Fatigue
and recovery interventions using the Accelerated Recovery Program (ARP,
Gentry, Baranowsky & Dunning, 1997). This workshop provides all the
tools necessary for the participant to implement the five-session ARP
protocol for assisting professionals who have become compassion fatigued
as a result of their caring work. The program is both didactic and experiential.
